2. Principle: Local Data Processing

Japanese Walking Coach was developed with the principle of "Privacy by Design". All health and training data remains exclusively on your iPhone and Apple Watch. No personal data is transmitted to us or to third parties.

3. What Data Does the App Process?

The app processes the following data – exclusively on your device:

• Workout data: Start/end time, duration, training plan
• Health data (via Apple HealthKit): Heart rate (average/maximum), distance, calories burned
• Location data: GPS route of the workout (via HealthKit workout routes)
• Interval data: Phase type (fast/slow), planned and actual duration, steps, distance per interval

4. Apple HealthKit

Japanese Walking Coach uses Apple HealthKit to read and store workout data. Access only occurs after your explicit consent through the iOS HealthKit permission dialogs. You can revoke these permissions at any time in System Settings under Privacy & Security → Health.

HealthKit data is stored locally on the device and encrypted by Apple. Japanese Walking Coach has no access to HealthKit data from other apps.

5. Data Transfer Between Devices

Live training data is transferred between iPhone and Apple Watch via Apple WatchConnectivity. This communication occurs directly and encrypted between your own devices – without routing through external servers.

6. Data Storage

Training history is cached locally in the app's UserDefaults to speed up display. The primary data source remains Apple HealthKit. No data is stored in a cloud or on external servers.

7. No Sharing with Third Parties

Japanese Walking Coach does not share any personal data with third parties. No analytics, tracking, or advertising services are used.

8. No Cookies & No Tracking

The app does not use cookies, analytics tools, or user tracking. This website also does not use tracking cookies.

9. Hosting of This Website

This website is hosted by [insert hosting provider]. When accessing the website, technical access data is automatically recorded in server log files (e.g., IP address, browser type, time of access). This data cannot be attributed to specific individuals and is not merged with other data sources. Collection is based on Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR (legitimate interest in trouble-free operation).

10. Your Rights

You have the right at any time to:

• Information about your stored data
• Correction of inaccurate data
• Deletion of your data
• Restriction of processing
• Data portability
• Object to processing
• Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority

Since all data is processed locally on your device, you have full control: You can delete the app at any time to remove all locally stored data. Workout data in Apple Health can be managed directly in the Health app.
